Choose the right poster for your room

There are times when you want to give  your room a new look quickly and without spending too much money. A simple effective idea is to add a few posters. It will be up to you to decide whether it is better to get one large poster or several smaller ones, possibly even grouped together by subject, style or author. You also have  a large choice of posters to choose from even more so now with so many online stores specializing in prints and posters.

What works really well in many rooms is a world map poster, the right one would look wonderful in a living room and a modern one would make your kids room more colorful while your kids can get familiar with geography. There is a long tradition of world maps, and you can also find ancient maps that only show the parts of the world that were known at the time, something which  will  also intrigue your guests. Otherwise you should be able to find local and city maps and group them together. While a poster would be the most affordable solution, you will be able to find maps printed on rice paper, canvas, leather and other materials that would be longer lasting than paper.

If you are not into maps but would like something beautiful and colorful you could try a vintage French poster. These are typically posters created  during the late 19th century and early 20th century after the invention of lithography which allowed cheap and fast color printing. They are extremely beautiful posters often designed by major artistic talents such as Mucha, Toulouse Lautrec and Grasset among others.  They instantly add elegance and class  to your room. As in the case of world maps you will  be able to find most of these posters as prints as well but if you still like a poster just choose a simple poster frame and you have something that will add class to your room with very little effort.
