Does Starcraft 2 Live Up to the Anticipation?

Before you spend $60 on the new Starcraft 2 video game you are probably wondering if it is really worth the money and will you actually enjoy the game. It's always a good idea to read as at least one Starcraft II review before buying, so here is my opinion on the game.

Most people have been looking forward to the release of Starcraft 2 for over ten years now considering the original Starcraft game was released 12 years ago. That long of a wait can definitely build up a lot of anticipation and increase of expectations. There are some people who say that the game is not that great for how much money it cost, but if you are a true fan of Starcraft and you enjoy real time strategy games, then I think you will enjoy the video game.

Starcraft 2 continues the saga of the Protoss, Zerg, and Terran as they fight for power over the world. The storyline picks up 4 years after the original video game left off.  There are several different campaigns that can be played with the game and you also have the choice of single player play or multi-player play through battle.net. There are truly so many options when it comes to the game that it could take you a very long time for you to get tired of playing it.

The graphics and sounds have also been improved with the sequel. The graphics along make you feel like you are right there fighting against the Zerg. Also, there is a lot more customization than the original offered.

There are definitely certain people who may not enjoy Starcraft II as this is not the type of game they enjoy playing. Other people who have unrealistic expectations of the game may also be disappointed as well. Lastly, if you don't understand how to play the game or how to customize the game to the fullest you may not get as much enjoyment from the game.

In my opinion if you like the original video game and enjoy the whole storyline and saga that goes along with it, then $60 is nothing to pay for the game. You will enjoy hours and hours of play. If you haven't played the original Starcraft but you do enjoy real time strategy games, you most likely will enjoy the game if you don't mind the science fiction aspect of the game.

If you are unsure if Starcraft 2 is for you, try to find someone who has a guest pass that allows you to play the game for 7 hours for free. This may be a great way to take a quick tour of the game and see if you are willing to pay the money for the actual video game.
