Memory Foam Pet Beds

When you first begin to research different types of beds for your dog you may feel overwhelmed by the sheer choice available.  Not only are there hundreds of styles and colors but you will also need to decide whether a wicker, plastic of fabric bed would best suit your dog and home.  Does your dog sleep in a dog kennel or the corner of a room?  Is he particularly prone to getting into bed wet and muddy?  Will he try to chew any bed to bits?  All of these things will need to be thought about before you can even begin to wonder what color would look best in the corner of your bedroom!

There is one more thing that many owners may not be aware of.  If your dog is getting old or has to put up with sore joints from a condition such as arthritis then there is one other type of bed which may be perfect for you.  Memory foam pet beds take advantage of that marvelous invention, memory foam.  Though you will undoubtedly be aware of memory foam mattresses for human beds you may not know that this material has also been used for the benefit of dogs.  The heat sensitive material gives extra support to every limb and joint, helping your dog to get some release from pain.  This means that he will be able to sleep so much better and will wake feeling refreshed and in a much more amenable mood.

Though a memory foam dog bed will be slightly more expensive than the other types the benefits it gives are well worth the money and you may even find that your dog will not require as many anti-inflammatory drugs. The main benefit may be to elderly or sick dogs but all dogs can benefit from a fantastic night’s sleep and will appreciate such a luxurious bed.
