You Will Enjoy Using Archery Targets

Archery and bow hunting are fun sports, but let's face it, they are tough. You have to have good technique to be able to fire an arrow into the air and hit your end target.  It takes a lot of practice to be good at archery.  The best solution is to purchase some archery targets so that you can practice and improve your skill set.

When choosing a target to hone in your archery skills, you first need to consider what kind of bow you are going to use.  There are different targets specially made for crossbows, because they are extremely powerful and might possible destroy a target that is not properly reinforced.  Also, when purchasing a target, make sure you have the right kind of arrows.  There are targets that are specifically made to be used with broad heads vs. field heads.

The most basic form of target you could purchase would be a foam cube.  These are good for screwing around in your backyard.  They really are not complex and can be used with a full range of arrow tips.  This type of target can usually withstand a full range of different types of bows.  So, if you are the owner of different bows, this might be a good target to have around.

If you're on a budget, then another consideration would be to get a synthetic bag target.  They usually just fit over existing objects in your yard.  For example, if you have a nice size boulder in your yard, you could just strap the target around the boulder.

For your kids, a good solution is to get some mats with printed bulls-eyes.  You can typically just attach these to bales of hay or other objects.  They also work really well for fair or instructional archery courses.  They are cheap and easy to replace.  These are really good targets to use if you are using a reflex bow.

As a hunter, you might want to get some animal targets.  You can get almost any type of game targets ranging in size from raccoons to elk.  Basically, these targets have foam in the kill zone of the game.  This material can easily be replaced as it gets warn out.  The benefit is that you learn where to strike your prey while hunting.

Remember, when looking for an archery target, you want to consider the style of archery your involved in.  It's also important that you tell the sales clerk what kind of bow and arrows you use.  It would be unfortunate to purchase a target and then have it destroyed by the extreme power of your bow.  Also, make sure you are using a quality bow.  If you need a new bow, then consider purchasing a Diamond bow.
